Teníamos una suerte extraordinaria al encontrar estos 2 ejemplares de Hyp. elegans/Felimare picta sobre una esponja. Uno verde y uno amarillo. Dado que estábamos en mayo, seguramente se estaban apareando. Algo insólito que tuvimos la suerte de ver. Estábamos en un sitio de la Costa Brava.
We had the extraordinary luck to find these 2 specimens of Hyp. elegans/Felimare picta on a sponge. One green and one yellow. Given that we did this dive in May, at a divesite of the Costa Brava, they were probably mating. Something so unusual which we were fortunate to witness.
Uno de los más bellos, y raros (por su cuerpo), nudibranquios en el Mediterráneo es el Janolus cristatus. Estas fotos se hicieron en un sitio de la Costa Brava, a una profundidad de unos 20 metros. Medía unos 3cm-4cm.
One of the most beautiful, and strange (due to its body), nudibranchs in the Mediterranean is the Janolus cristatus nudibranch. These photos were taken in a divesite of the Costa Brava, at a depth of around 66 feet. It measured around 1.25-1.75 inches.
Esta inmersión se realizó en mayo del 2017 en un sitio de la Costa Brava. Un bello ejemplar del nudibranquio Hyp. elegans, o Felimare picta. Una foto con más luz y una con menos. Estábamos a unos 20 metros de profundidad. Los distintos detalles se pueden apreciar en las 2 fotos.
This dive was done in May of 2017 at a divesite on the Costa Brava. A beautiful specimen of a Hyp. elegans, or Felimare picta nudibranch. One photo has more light, and one less, and the different details can be seen in the 2 photos. We were around 66 feet deep.
En una inmersión el 23.09.17, fuimos a un sitio repleto de Paramuricea clavata (Gorgonia rojo y amarillo) ubicado en el Cap de Creus, de la Costa Brava. Agua bastante limpia me permitió sacar unas fotos reflejando la belleza de estos animales que te dan la sensación de estar volando entre arboles de un bosque encantado.
We did a dive on 09.23.17 at a divesite covered in Paramuricea clavata (Red and yellow sea-whip gorgonia), located at Cap de Creus, of the Costa Brava. The water was pretty clean and allowed me to take some photos which reflected the beauty of these animals, which give you the sensation of flying through an enchanted forest.
Esta morena estaba totalmente salida de su garita, en Tossa de Mar. ¡Bellísimo! Hay una zona sembrada de morenas, y pudimos disfrutar de una buena inmersión con ellas.
This moray eel was completely outside of its den, in Tossa de Mar. Gorgeous! There´s an area which is full of morays, and we were able to enjoy a dive with them.
Este Hyp. elegans/Felimare picta se vió en la misma inmersión de la del Hyp. elegans azul, el 17.06.17. La misma especie, pero de distintos colores. La diferencia fue de profundidad: el amarillo estaba a unos 5 metros de profundidad mientras el azul estaba a unos 14 metros. A disfrutar.
This Hyp. elegans/Felimare picta was seen in the same dive as that of the blue Hyp. elegans, on June 17, 2017. Same species, but different colors. The difference was one of depth: the yellow one was only about 16 feet deep, while the blue one was at about 45 feet. Enjoy.
Este ejemplar bellísimo del Hypselodoris elegans/Felimare picta con el cuerpo azul no necesita palabras. Para tener una idea de su tamaño, mi compañero de buceo, Juan Sanchez, está con él. Medía unos 8-10cm de largo. La inmersión la hicimos el 17.06.17 en uno de nuestros sitios favoritos para nudibranquios de la Costa Brava. A disfrutar.
This beautiful specimen of a Hypselodoris elegans/Felimare picta nudibranch with a blue body needs no words. To have an idea of its size, my diving partner, Juan Sanchez, is next to it. It was 3-4 inches long. This dive was done at one of our favorite Costa Brava dive sites for nudibranchs. Enjoy.
