Planaria Prostheceraeus roseus (Prostheceraeus roseus flatworm)

Here are three photos of the same flatworm species, Prostheceraeus roseseus, taken at two different dive sites.  The first photo was taken in the waters off Begur, Spain (Sa Rascassa) while the other two were taken at Les Tres Frares (Cap de Creus, Spain).  Its colors are striking!  The depth varied, from 50 feet to 85 feet.  At the second dive site, we literally saw more than 50; they were everywhere!  Spring means that they were probably looking to mate.  The first and third photos clearly show its head area, on the right, with its miniature rhinophores clearly visible.  A very beautiful animal.

Aquí hay tres fotos de la misma especie de planaria, Prostheceraeus roseseus, tomadas en dos sitios de buceo diferentes.  La primera foto se hizo cerca de Begur, España (Sa Rascassa), mientras las otras dos se hicieron en Les Tres Frares (Cap de Creus, España).  ¡Sus colores son muy llamativos!  La profundidad oscilaba de entre 15 metros y 25 metros.  En el segundo sitio, literalmente vimos más de 50; ¡estaban por todas partes!  La primavera quiere decir que seguramente buscaban pareja para procrear.  Las primera y tercera fotos muestran claramente su cabeza, a la derecha, con sus pequeños rinóforos visibles.  Un animal muy bello.
