Serranus hepatus

This was taken on our last night dive, at a depth of about 8 meters.  This species just finds a nice place to sleep, regardless of whether it´s a protected area or on an open, sandy bottom.  However, their sensory system is always activated, which allows them to perceive movement when something approaches.  They´re very territorial and protective, confronting a diver who comes too close.  But, then they quickly swim off if the diver insists on getting closer.
