Two more Hypselodoris elegans nudibranchs! Their beauty exceeds description, though I´ve tried to describe it, so just look at these two photos and enjoy. These were seen on two different dives, both deep, in different sites which Juan Sanchez and I did this past week. The depths ranged from 80 feet to 100 feet. Does anyone know why the Hyp. elegans in the first photo has what appears to be a natural aperture on its forward right side? Any clarification would be welcomed. The typical size of the 14 elegans we´ve seen in the past 3 dives is around 5 inches, which is typically the size of those I´ve seen along the years.
¡Dos nudibranquios Hypselodoris elegans más! Su belleza excede cualquier intento de descripción, aunque lo he intentado, entonces míralos y disfruta, sin más. Estos dos se vieron en dos inmersiones distintas, ambas profundas, en sitios distintos, que Juan Sanchez y yo hicimos esta semana pasada. Las profundidades eran de entre 24 metros y 30 metros. ¿Sabe alguien por qué el Hyp. elegans de la primera foto tiene lo que parece ser una apertura natural en su costado anterior derecho? Cualquier clarificación se agradecería. El tamaño típico de los 14 elegans que hemos visto en las últimas 3 inmersiones es de unos 14 cm, que es el tamaño típico de los que he visto a lo largo de los años.
