Serpula vermicularis L. (Serpentine tubeworm)

This animal is one of the hardest to photograph, at least for me.  It is extremely light-sensitive and motion-sensitive, and I believe all of them can sense when I get to within four feet of one.  They retract their exposed parts immediately into their tubes and I´m left with a stupid look on my face.  This is a beautiful animal, perfectly adapted to its environment.  I hope to get more and better photographs of this species as its truly a beautiful animal.  They don´t exceed an inch or so fully extended.
