Octopus vulgaris con su puesta de huevos (Common octopus with egg sacks)

Three weeks after Juan and I found this monster octopus, we went back to see if it was still in its cave.  She was there, having enclosed herself in her cave with large rocks so that she could lay her egg sacks, which are visible in the upper left of the photo.  This is a HUGE octopus, but she did not attack, she just defended her future progeny.  Juan and I took a couple of photos, then replaced the rocks so that she and her eggs would be safe.  Perhaps we´ll go back soon to see if she´s still there or has died after giving her babies life.

Tres semanas después de que Juan y yo encontrásemos este pulpo ENORME, volvimos a ver si aún estaba en su cueva.  Estaba allí, habiéndose encerrado en su cueva con piedras grandes para que pudiese poner sus sacos de huevos, visibles arriba a la izq. de la foto.  Este pulpo enorme no nos atacó, se limitó a defender a su futura generación.  Juan y yo sacamos un par de fotos y luego pusimos las piedras de nuevo en su sitio para que ella y sus huevos estarían a salvo.  Quizá volvamos para ver si aún está allí o se ha muerto después de darles vida a sus críos.
