Nudibranquio: Peltodoris atromaculata (Vaquita suiza o Swiss cow)

This dive, at my favorite dive-site for nudibranchs, was replete with several Peltodoris atromaculatas.  They were everywhere!  You can see their small rhinophores, and if you look closely you can see that its skin resembles sandpaper, and it is, in fact, somewhat raspy.  In the last photo, at the extreme right of its body, you can see part of its branchia, which is semi-retracted.  Their size generally ranges from a couple of inches to 4-5 inches.

Esta inmersión, en mi sitio favorito para nudibranquios, estaba repleta con varias Peltodoris atromaculatas.  ¡Estaban por todas partes!  Se pueden ver sus pequeños rinóforos, y si se mira bien se puede ver que su piel se parece a papel de lija y es, de hecho, algo raspante.  En la última foto, al lado derecho extremo, se puede ver parte de sus branquias, semi-retractadas.  Su tamaño generalmente oscila de unos 4 cm a más de 10cm.
