Axinella verrucosa and Cribinopsis crassa

Here is an interesting photo, which may or may not be an example of cooperation for survival.  Both co-exist at depths ranging from 10 meters or so to more than 25 meters.  There are several species of anemones as well as sponges in the Western Mediterranean.  Let´s hope that Man´s contamination doesn´t kill them off!
